Sudoc Secures $10 Million

Sudoc secures $10 million from the Hunter Lewis Family Office after licensing revolutionary sustainable chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University

On the heels of concluding an all-fields license agreement with Carnegie Mellon University (“CMU”) for IP related to a revolutionary invention—TAML catalysts – Sudoc has secured a $10 million commitment with the Hunter Lewis Family Trust. The Trust created by Hunter Lewis, the co-founder and former CEO of Cambridge Associates LLC, is the first investor in Sudoc, an innovative chemical industry startup focused on environmental sustainability.

Hunter Lewis comments, “I can say, unequivocally, that Sudoc is the most important investment I have ever made. As a society, we have allowed for an atrocious accumulation of toxic chemicals in our lives and we must reverse this trend. Sudoc’s chemistry is a vital part of a community response. Our inventor, Dr. Terry Collins, has developed an oxidative chemistry designed to be sustainable, but also more powerful than the harmful chemicals we use today. This is truly revolutionary technology.”

Founder and CEO of Sudoc, Roger Berry, states, “Hunter Lewis has been a pioneer, innovator, and leader in the development of alternative investment strategies. It is an incredible honor to have the Hunter Lewis Family Trust as the founding investor of Sudoc. We welcome Mr. Lewis as an Advisor to the Board and look forward to his counsel as we build a company of environmental importance.”

Co-Author of Our Stolen Future, the seminal text on endocrine disrupting chemicals, and Sudoc Board Member, Pete Myers comments, “It has been my lifetime’s work to call out the perverse endocrine disrupting effects of many toxic chemicals. It is now my privilege to help guide Sudoc in commercialization and deployment of a chemical technology that offers powerful solutions to the problems those chemicals create. Having Hunter Lewis make this commitment to Sudoc is a tremendous sign of support for a new and different model of a chemical company, one deeply rooted in long-term environmental sustainability. I strongly believe that Roger and his team will change the way we think about chemicals in our lives.”

Sudoc is in business to outperform toxic chemicals and to remove them from our planet. Sudoc was formed in 2020 with operations in Cambridge, MA, Charlottesville, VA, and Pittsburgh, PA and is developing a range of products that will, among other applications, treat mold, clean wastewater, and mineralize waste pharmaceuticals. As a sign of its commitment to the public good, Sudoc’s largest shareholder is a pair of trusts that will over time fund research into the problem of endocrine disrupting chemicals— those toxic chemicals that disrupt the hormone systems of living beings, reducing human fertility, inducing diseases, and adversely affecting behavior.

The Hunter Lewis Family Trust is one of the investment vehicles created by Hunter Lewis, the co-founder and former CEO of Cambridge Associates LLC, a global investment firm with $2.6 trillion under advisement as of his departure in 2018. At Cambridge Associates, Hunter was a co-inventor of what became known as the American university investment model, driving some of the highest investment returns in the world among institutional investors. Hunter is recognized as an innovator in the investment world. He is also committed to environmental and human health having served as President of the Alliance for Natural Health-USA, Chairman of the National Environmental Trust, Chairman of the Worldwatch Institute, Chairman of Shelburne Farms, Treasurer of the World Wildlife Fund, Trustee of World Wildlife Fund International, and Trustee of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
